My Hair Loss Story

I’ve been losing my hair for the past year all in my crown area. I was diagnosed with male pattern baldness in 2007. I have tried many products for my hair loss.

How Far Hair Loss Transplants Have Come

Hair loss transplants have come a long way.  They are not what people think them to be years ago.  Now, people suffering from excessive hair loss consider this procedure as their best solution.  With modern techniques and procedures done by qualified hair experts and surgeons, the transplant is hardly obvious as you get to enjoy only natural hair in what was once a balding spot in your head.

You no longer have to fear or worry about bad transplants as they rarely occur these days.  There are numerous qualified hair surgeons who can perform the procedure expertly.  But if you are one of the few unfortunate victims of a bad hair transplant, you can always have it corrected when you go to an experienced hair restoration center and have it redone by a competent hair transplant expert.

Bad hair transplant should not happen though if you do your responsibility.  There’s no reason not to do your responsibility as the internet is a place where you can conveniently and easily access all the information and resources you need to decide on undergoing hair transplant.  You can choose from among the many hair surgeons performing hair loss transplants based from their experience and competence as well as feedbacks from their actual patients.

You also have to set your expectations real.  Although hair transplants can help restore your hair, you shouldn’t expect to get a full hair back in your head.  It is also most effective with a balding pattern and may not work when you already have a fully blown hair loss or a bald scalp.  You see, the success of hair transplants is the ability to implant your own healthy hair to the area in your head where you are balding.  This requires some healthy hair from your own scalp.

Hair loss restoration has grown to become a common surgical procedure these days.  As the number of individuals opting to undergo such procedure rapidly increases, so is the increase in the number of hair surgeons who are experts on the procedure.

It shouldn’t be a problem to find the right hair surgeon to perform the procedure on your hair.  You just have to ensure that your decision is based from the wealth of information you have gathered and collected online along with the feedbacks you obtain from actual beneficiaries of the hair loss transplants.

The Beginners Guide to Cutting Hair

What do I do for an abnormal amount of hair loss?

I’ve always had very thick hair, thank goodness. I’ve let my hair grow and have it colored/highlighted about every 5-6 weeks, but I’ve done that for years. I can run my hand through my hair and come up with 20 to 50 hairs in my fingers and I’m not pulling hard. My brush is full after brushing my hair once. When I would pull my hair back in a ponytail it was very thick and lots to work with, but now it’s only about 3/4 inch in diameter. I don’t pull it back anymore for fear that that is one of the problems. I am not taking any new medication and there doesn’t seem to be a logical reason for the hair loss. My mother said it was “seasonal shedding,” but I’ve never had it like this ever! I have it trimmed just a little each time to prevent split ends damaging my hair. Can anyone help? Any suggestions? I would appreciate any reasonable solution.

A lot of people suffer from hair loss. It is inevitable for most since this is commonly part of the natural aging process. Because of this, a huge number of people just let their hair fall off naturally. However, this is obviously not okay for a larger population of hair loss sufferers. Also one of the reasons for the low popularity of ways of resolving hair loss is the cost for hair transplant. The usual cost for this type of procedure is around $4,000 to $20,000 and that is considered expensive by most.

The cost for this procedure varies greatly because of a lot of factors. One of these factors is the actual type of procedure for hair transplantation. There are two common types for this. One is Strip Harvesting and the other is the more modern Follicular Unit Extraction. Strip Harvesting started earlier on and involves removal of a small piece of the actual scalp and it’s transplantation on the part of the head with thinning hair. This procedure takes a shorter time but a much longer recovery period than the second one.

The second type of procedure, Follicular Unit Extraction or FUE, requires more effort but with this method, there will be no visible scars on the scalp and the recovery period will be a lot shorter. The reason for this is instead of removing a piece of the actual scalp, only the hair follicles are removed and transplanted. The process takes a longer time but once it is done, the patient would not have to suffer from scars on the scalp. Plus, based on the previous results, this is more effective than normal Strip Harvesting. The only drawback with this method is the higher cost for hair transplant.

Because FUE is more modern than Strip Harvesting, it is naturally more expensive. You can find clinics offering considerably lower fees than others but it would take a lot of research. You would have to know how to compare prices in order for you to get the best possible cost for hair transplant for the procedure of your choice.

Living in Vietnam & finding it hard to get good vetinary advice.

Recently had a 3-4 month old puppy which spent lots of time with my friends dog (same age). My dog became ill starting with: eye infection, green gunk in eyes & hair loss around eyes, then became lethargic and lost her appetite.

At this point I took her to the animal doctor. After 3 days of injections she began frothing at the mouth. After 4 more days of intermitent, but increasingly common frothing bouts, i gave the dog to the animal doctor for 2 days observation. After this she determined the dog to be crazy & advised she be put down.

Unfortunately, testing for rabies wasn’t an option. I’m not totally convinced that it was rabies: she wasn’t aggresive till the fourth day of frothing & was still drinking small amounts of water till the end.

My friends dog which used to socialise with my dog is now showing similar symptoms with hair loss around the eyes & green gunk and mild lethargy. What to do?

I took Yaz several years ago, and noticed I lost a LOT of my hair. Its curly and has always shed bad, but this was a lot all the time. I don’t have bald spots or anything, and still have medium thick hair, but about 2/3 of what it was.

Yaz now has a lawsuit against it, and one of the symptoms/problems is permanent hair loss. How do I know if that’s what caused it and how would I prove it?
